Belonging to the Cucurbitaceae family, the green melon has an oval shape, cracked skin and can weigh up to 5 kg. Like other varieties of melons, it contains 90% water, which makes it a very refreshing and low-calorie fruit. Its white flesh is sweet, with hints of honey. The green melon is mainly and commonly consumed in Spain and can be eaten raw, cooked, candied, in juice or in a drink as liqueur.
