This vodka from Poland is produced in small batches and Butler's was one of the lucky retailers to get a few in stock. Konik means wild horse in Polish and the tale has it that just a glimpse of this mysterious beast is enough to ensure a good harvest for the grains used.
It is made with three different grains, spelt (the happy grain), rye (the dancing grain) and wheat (the smiling grain). It is filtered through silver birch charcoal resulting in a complex and very well balanced spirit.
It has flavours of creamy vanilla, with rye spiciness appearing alongside black pepper and a burnt note, lingering butterscotch sweetness, raspberry and a pinch of spice.
