Rooster Rojo Añejo is our premium tequila, aged for at least one year in used bourbon barrels using 100% blue agave to give it its pronounced richness and exceptional smoothness for those with discerning taste.
The name Añejo roughly translates to mean ‘aged’ or ‘vintage’ which means that tequila Añejo is silver tequila that has been left to mature from between one to three years.
The ageing process leads to a darker amber colour and a smoother more complex flavour than other types of tequila. Our world-famous Añejo combines oak, chocolate, tobacco and coffee aromas with hints of caramel, vanilla, and agave on the taste buds. The finish is decidedly rich and smooth. Añejo tequila is commonly served in a wine glass or a short-stemmed brandy glass.
